The proposed redevelopment aims to enhance the character and identity of College Square, invigorate street life, improve seating and lighting, and boost accessibility and usage of our transit system. This transformation will create a lively, refreshed space for events like live music, artisan and farmers markets, seasonal celebrations, pop-ups, and street festivals.
The transformation of College Square will yield a pedestrian-friendly public open space that supports the vitality of downtown and fosters a strong connection between the University of Georgia and the city of Athens.
